Suddenly Untethered:
The Surprising Growing Pains of Living Your Dream

A Workshop for Digital Nomads and Expats Navigating the Emotional Side of Major Life Changes
Abstract Water Surface

You prepared for the logistics, the new beginning, and for stepping into a life you dreamed of.

But maybe what you didn’t expect was for your dream life to feel... less than dreamy.

Sometimes the very things we wanted most can still feel unexpectedly lonely, exhausting, disorienting, frustrating, or emotionally heavy while we’re adjusting to them. We may even feel like we can’t adjust at all.

This workshop is designed to help you better understand what can happen internally during major life transitions and how to reconnect with yourself in the middle of change.

You're Not the Only One

Feeling This.

Major life changes often look exciting from the outside. It’s easy to crave the opportunity to build a different kind of life!

And you did it. You took the leap.

But internally, you may find yourself:

  • emotionally unsettled, even though this is something you wanted

  • questioning why you don’t feel happier or more grounded yet

  • struggling with loneliness, overstimulation, or constant adaptation

  • feeling caught between your old life and your new one

  • silently wondering why everything feels harder than expected

Many people assume these feelings mean they made the wrong decision.

Often, they’re actually experiencing the emotional and nervous system realities of major change.

Pebble Road

Sometimes the challenge isn't the move itself.

It's learning how to live inside the change.

Inside the Workshop

This is a space to better understand what may be happening beneath the surface of major life transitions.

Hi, I'm Marlys!

I'm a licensed therapist and board-certified music therapist who has spent years supporting people through major life transitions, emotional recovery, reinvention, and personal transformation.

Having lived, traveled, and reinvented myself across multiple seasons of life, I understand firsthand that meaningful change affects far more than our circumstances.

My work combines emotional insight, nervous system awareness, IFS, music, and somatic approaches to help people reconnect, accept, and support themselves as they navigate change.

Rather than focusing only on mindset or logistics, I help people explore the emotional experience underneath transition, creating space for reflection, regulation, clarity, and integration.
