We love summer. The sunshine, the longer days, the road trips and beach escapes—it’s the season that practically begs us to slow down and soak it all in. Anyone else wish they could spend the whole summer on vacation, basking in the sun without a care in the world? 🙋

Unfortunately, for most of us, a three-month vacation isn’t exactly realistic. But that doesn’t mean you can’t feel like you're on vacation—even on a regular Tuesday. Here's how to tap into that summer vacation feel:

Take Summer-Inspired Breaks That Actually Recharge You

Research shows that one of the most effective ways to structure your workday is to follow a 52/17 rhythm: 52 minutes of focused work followed by a 17-minute break. So why not use that break to infuse a little summer magic into your day?

Try this:

  • Set a timer for 52 minutes and dive into your work.

  • When it goes off, cue up a beachy soundscape—think waves crashing, seagulls calling, or tropical steel drums. (YouTube has tons of these.)

  • Close your eyes, turn down the lights (or better yet, step outside if the weather’s nice), and take a few deep, slow breaths.

  • Gently roll out your neck and shoulders. Stretch. Just… be for a moment.

Let the sounds of summer—whether it’s ocean waves or chirping crickets—transport you. Even just a few intentional minutes can offer that “ahhh” feeling, like you’re lying in a hammock with nowhere to be.

Bonus Tip: Take It Outside

If you're lucky enough to have a sunny day, take your break outdoors. A little natural light, fresh air, and maybe even some grass under your feet can boost your mood and energy for the rest of the day. Plus, it makes your vacation-themed break feel even more real.

Even if your summer is filled with deadlines and meetings instead of flights and flip-flops, you can still bring a little of that easygoing, sun-soaked vibe into your everyday life. So take your breaks seriously, and let them be your mini escape.

Your summer state of mind starts now. 🌞
