How To Know if You Are Avoiding Your Feelings

It is hard to maintain mental wellness without having strong self-awareness of your feelings. And many of us have been taught to ignore or stifle our feelings - especially in seasons that feel tumultuous.

Let's do a quick check in to see if you are avoiding your feelings. Are any of these statements true for you?

-You don’t take the time to put words to what you’re going through

-You consistently say “I’m fine” regardless of how you really feel

-You try to make your thoughts and feelings about what you think they should be, not what you actually feel

-You think "It's not a big deal"

If any of these statements resonate, it may be time to sit and feel your emotions. Being aware of your emotions can help you move through tough situations faster, and give you the ability to communicate your needs.

Need help doing this? Music therapy is an awesome way to access emotions and find your words!
